For weeks we’ve been preaching about why we believe video is such a crucial part of any marketing campaign, especially in the Attention Era. Not only is it a great way for potential clients and customers to get a sense of who you are as a business, but it also a lot more entertaining then reading pages of text.

Businesses who have harnessed the power of video marketing are seeing some remarkable results. If you still don’t believe in the power of video, here are five numbers that might just make you a believer:

1) 100 million The number of internet users who watch online videos each day. These are not just people looking at videos of cats all day, these are legitimate consumers looking for more information about a product, service, or advice on how to do something.

2) 90% The percentage of online shoppers who said they find video helpful when making buying decisions. Retailers who provide online video for their products have found that those items with a video sell a lot more than products without a video.

3) 64% This is how much more likely consumers are to buy a product from an online retailer after watching a video. Not to mention, visitors who watch videos on that site stay an average of two minutes longer on the website.

4) 200% A survey given to businesses in 2010 by the Forrester Marketing group found that when marketers included a marketing or explanation video click through rates rose 200-300%, a huge increase!

5) 1.8 Million Words According to Dr. James McQuivery of Forrester Research, that is the value of one minute of video. That equates to about 3,600 typical sized web pages, which would take you 150 days to write if you wrote one an hour. Do you have that kind of time? Certainly not in the Attention Era! So what does all this mean? Well if you’re not using video you’re missing out on a huge market! Not to mention, you’re leaving the door wide open for your competition to beat you to the punch.

No one likes to play catch up, so get on the video marketing bandwagon now, while there’s still room! Don’t take our word for it try it for yourself, cliche yes, but true.
